Q&A: Does the chinese gender predictor really work?

Does the chinese gender predictor really work?

I recently checked out a website that I was referred to on this site, and I came across a chinese gender predictor chart. I am just curious whether or not this chart is widely accepted in the world as accurate? I know that it can’t be 100% sure but does anybody have an idea of how accurate this tool can be?

This chart works 50% of the time, and that’s about as good as it will get. China actually has laws that prevent people from having more than one child, and most families prefer to have a boy. With that being said, China has more homeless girls than boys and if the Chinese gender predictor chart actually worked, then this issue with so many homeless girls would not be as much of a disaster in China as it is right now. It’s nice to believe that you can predict gender based on a date or something like that but this is false. If you want a real prediction you have to get an ultrasound or take matters into your own hands. Technology is getting better every year and you’d be surprised to find out that people can now determine whether they are having a boy or girl on their own. It’s probably expensive though.

It’s as accurate as a coin toss. But no, it doesn’t really work. None of those things work. The only way to tell is to look and see, usually through ultrasound, or by waiting and seeing.

With my first child we did a bunch of those “tests”, and oddly I think all but one said she was going to be a girl. Although when we did that with my son they all said he was going to be a girl too…

I did it for both of my children, it predicted the opposite sex for each.. lol I think it’s more for entertainment than anything. Unless you have something scientific done, most of the predictors and special things you can “do” to help you have a boy or girl are old wives tales.

Have you taken a gender predictor test or used the Chinese calender?

The Chinese calender says it’s a girl, the gender predictor urine test claims a boy. I’m so anxious and my 2nd tri ultrasound isn’t until 2 weeks. If you hve taken these tests, how was the accuracy for you?

I used the chinese predictor, and it said boy with my first one, and it was a girl. With my pregnancy now, it is saying girl, but i have a STRONG intuition that it’s a boy. I did that needle test, (you put a needle on a thread and dangle it over your belly, if it circles its a girl, if it goes back and fourth its a boy, works like a quige board), and it said boy. Just be patient!!! It will be so fun when you finally do find out! Good Luck!!!! And congrats!!!

i wouldnt read to far into those things.

the urine gender “prediction” tests are just an overpriced urine PH balance test. a more acidic urine will give the result of girl, a more alkaline urine test will say boy. it has a 50/50 chance of being right. My friend took one and said she was having a girl, she is actually having a boy.

i would just wait until the ultrasound to be sure. also make sure the person who is doing the ultrasound really knows what they are doing. the same friend who took the urine test, was first told she was having a girl at a 19 week ultrasound, had another ultrasound 2 weeks later and was told it was a boy. she had a 3D and it is in fact a boy.

the one thing that was right for me was the string test. take a piece of string and thread it through a needle. hold it either above your belly or over your wrist. if it swings back and forth its supposed to be a boy. if it swings in circles, its supposed to be a girl. I did this when i was pregnant with my son before and after i fond out what i was having and it both indicated a boy. I am now expecting #2 (too soon to know gender. 14 1/2 weeks) and it went in a circle. Im very anxious to see if its correct this time.

50/50 just like the chances of having either sex!

It has about a 50/50 chance of being right, just like flipping a coin. If it were accurate my son would be a girl.

I’ve heard it works for some people, but it was wrong with my pregnancy.
