Q&A: How is the Chinese Birth Chart 90% accurate?

How is the Chinese Birth Chart 90% accurate?

I don’t understand how it is “over 90% accurate” I am 5 weeks pregnant and my sister in law is 8 weeks pregnant, we have been playing around with old wives tales and everybody told us to do the chinese birth chart.. But i don’t see how it is SO accurate b/c, i get boy most of the time but sometimes i get girl. And she gets girl most of the time but sometimes gets boy… we have tried it with different ones..so how is this so??

Answer by Danchi
It’s just play, nothing more. Mathematically speaking, there is 50% chance to get it right, so it’s no wonder that it’s stated it’s 90% accurate 😛
In my case, I have been in those 10%-both of times 😛 Have 2 boys, while this chart told me both times that I am carrying a girl 😛

Its a lie! Lol mine said “boy” I also tried the Intelligent gender test – It said boy; Guess what I’m having a girl! Lol you’ll find out what your having in due time. Its exiting not knowing until 18 weeks anyways (: Congrats !

It’s not really 90% accurate, It’s only 50%. It was right for me tho.. but really it’s just a silly myth that it can predict a baby’s gender. The sperm is what decides what sex the baby will be, and out of millions of sperms there is just no way to know!

Was the chinese birth chart, or the baby’s heart rate accurate in your case?

So far I’ve looked at a few of the chinese birth charts and they all say girl for me. The baby’s heart rate at 8 weeks was 174 and at almost 13 weeks was 170 which points to a girl according to old wives tales. I am really starting to feel as if it will be a girl but you never know. I would love to have a boy, but we will be happy with whatever it is. Anyone want to guess what they think it is?

The Chinese gender predictor told me girl, and my baby also had a heart rate in the high 160’s… but I’m actually having a boy. I wouldn’t trust anything but an ultrasound. :)

every single thing says its a boy.. chinese chart.. needle on thread..heart beat… EVERYTHING

but the tech checked twice and it’s a girl.

For us the chinese birth chart was accurate it said a girl but her heartrate was only in the 120-130’s. And that points to a boy, definately having a girl.

I can’t believe anyone takes these things seriously. Think about it. It has a 50:50 chance of being right. Same as tossing a coin or making a wild guess.

It isn’t even Chinese. It was made up by bored staff on an American parenting magazine.

The baby’s heart rate means nothing. I was at the doctor’s office last night, and with the doppler, the HR was 170. During the ultrasound five minutes later, the baby had fallen asleep and the HR dropped to 135. It’s changing all the time, and “boy” or “girl” indications depends entirely on when you catch it.

The Chinese birth chart told me boy, and at 9 weeks my baby’s heart rate was 167 – on the high side, which supposedly means girl. It turns out my baby is a boy. The heart rate thing is just an old wivestale and the Chinese birth chart really has a 50% chance of being correct no matter what they predict, and I’ve heard plenty of people say that the chart was wrong for them. You can’t rely on either of these methods to predict the sex of your baby, and you’ll just have to wait until your ultrasound. Good luck!

The Chinese birth chart said boy with all three of mine. My first two are boys, but this pregnancy they said three times is a girl.
The heart rate on my boys was:
    1st one – 150; 2nd one- 170.
This pregnancy is more in the 140’s
I am 22 weeks, I have been seeing maternal fetal medicine doctors as my baby has not been growing accurately and the 3D & 4D ultrasounds state girl. I will have an amniotosis and this will determine if the Chinese Chart is wrong or right on this pregnancy.
